I have had and still have a career as a creative director. I restarted painting in 2013, was accepted into Burchfield’s Buffalo Society of Artists as an exhibiting member in 2014 and have been showing and selling work since. My story is a rebirth into this world through imagery that is tactile, energetically emotional and colorful – sometimes “representational” impressionism, sometimes pure abstraction. My mother once said I have a love affair with nature – she got it right. I paint mid to large scale acrylics on canvas because I like the bright, dimensional feel. In my work I try to capture the energy of stillness and invite the viewer directly into my world to share in the grand delight of nature. And I paint smaller-scale mixed media pieces and pastels because I am attracted to the high pigment quality and immediate “no-going back” commitment that is a part of the way I use this medium. I have been an agency creative director for 23 years, I own my own advertising company. I hold a BFA painting from UB where I had the pleasure of working with and being mentored by Seyour Drummlevitch, and Walter Prochownik. I also hold an MA – fine art and computer science, from UB.
